The territory, dominated by Montiferru in the North, by Sinis Peninsula and Campidano plain in the South, forms the province of Oristano, rich of its fertile lands full of humus of river Tirso and of important archaelogic centres like Tharros and St. Cristina. It allows people who live in this magical land to feel its power and it attracts people who visit it to discover its territory.
Sinis Peninsula, situated in the municipality of Cabras, is a succession of sheets of water, salt mines, ponds that, clashed with the sea, create the particular aspect of this zone. The rich vegetation composed of rushes, canebrakes and glassworth grows rampant and it takes in ashy herons, white herons, hawks of the pond, the last exemplars of sultan poultry and pink flamingo. The pond of Mistras composed of two basins on a territory of 500 hectares is a real faunal oasis of rushes and glassworth, habitat for seagulls, predatory birds and cormorants.
